"Painted an unmissable blue, Paddy and Julia Foyle’s new Connemara venture is this playfully styled, good-value option, minutes from the town centre. Managed by Toby, the Foyles’ son, the B&B is sister to The Quay House on the harbour (see main entry). The 200-year-old building has been brought up to date with eclectic decor: white-painted antlers hang on the wall across from gilt-framed portraits and unusual mirrors; bold black-and-white flooring lies beneath a ceiling of blue. All but one of the pretty, modern bedrooms has a view of the harbour. In the morning, the host cooks an imaginative, well-prepared breakfast. An ideal base for walkers and cyclists."
